RE: Anthony J. Broussard, Polygraph Re-Examination
Murder, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office

On March 28, 1977, Anthony J. Broussard voluntarily submitted to a Polygraph Re-Examination. Again, Mr. Broussard signed two copies of a form stating he was taking the examination voluntarily. These forms will remain as part of his case folder.

The relevant questions asked Mr. Broussard were as follows:

#1 On November 12, 1975, prior to his death, do you know for sure who beat Ricky?

#2 On November 12, 1975, did you beat Ricky?

#3 Did you and anyone else beat Ricky on November 12, 1975?

#4 Right now, can you take me to the weapon used to beat Ricky on November 12, 1975?

Subject answered all of the above questions with “No.”

Again, throughout this person’s polygraph test on March 28, 1977, there were irregular and erratic reactions to the test questions. It is the opinion of the polygraphist that these reactions were intentionally caused by Mr. Broussard in an effort to distort the charts. Based upon this, and Mr. Broussard’s pre-test interview, it is the opinion of the polygraphist that Mr. Broussard would be considered a qualified liar.

Respectfully submitted,
Leland R. Denison, Lieutenant
Supervisor Technical Aids Unit

  1. This was the second polygraph test for Anthony J. Broussard; The first, conducted March 15, 1977 showed similar erratic and irregular reactions and as a result the polygraphist requested that Mr. Broussard be given a polygraph re-examination.
